Paradigm for Developing Competencies according to Religious Principles of Community Leaders in the 25th Buddhist Century

Abstract

This article, the authors would like to present a guideline for developing a
model community leader based on Dhamma principles in community management
of the crisis of the 2019 coronavirus pandemic, aims to develop the competency of
community leaders with training ways in 3 aspects, namely 1) Knowledge that is
knowledge in 2 aspects as follows: the knowledge in working and the knowledge in
Brahma Vihãra in order to be self-training in 4 aspects, including Metã, Karunã, Muditã,
and Upekkhã, 2) Skills is training to become proficient in management within own
community and having compassion (goodwill towards others) and kindness (helping
others when they are suffering), and 3 Personal attributes mean training for
community leaders to have a positive working attitude, having duty motivation and
sympathetic joy (delight in others), and equanimity (impartiality). In order that the
advantage of applying Brahma Vihãra will result the people in society to love,
harmony, be united, be good relationship, help others when they are suffering, in
trouble, support each other, not survive and live together like a friend
