Paticcasamuppãda through Somdet Phra Buddhaghosacariya (P.A. Payutto)’s concept

Abstract

This article is the part of research. The objectives are1. To study the concept
of Paticca-samuppãda in doctrine texts of Buddhism. 2. To analyze the development
of preachment in concept of Paticcasamuppãda by Somdet Phra Buddhaghosacariya
(P.A. Payutto).
From the research, it is found that Buddha preached Paticcasamuppãda to
Buddhist for understanding in procedure is born and switch off the Dukkha and for
finishing to the non-transmigration. But the preachment of Buddha in Tipitaka can
interpret both of transmigration and the present, so this tissue was interpreted by the
philosophers of Buddhist in each period for understanding to the most Buddhist, such
as, PhraBuddhaghosa, who wrote Visuddhimagga, interpreted Paticcasamuppãda in
transmigration line because Buddhist believed in transmigration in his period more than
this period.
By this reason, Somdet Phra Buddhaghosacariya (P. A. Payutto) develop
presentation of preachment and interpret Paticcasamuppãda in present line for
Buddhist apply this doctrine to switch off their Dukkha and present procedure of
Paticcasamuppãda cycle in map to make easy and interesting for learning and
understanding this important doctrine in the Buddhism.
The researcher thinks that he explains many points about Paticcasamuppãda
to understand them easily and clearly. For example, he explains “Vinnãna Paccaya
Nãma-Rupa” by using psychological vocabulary. He explains that Vinnãna is the factor
to cause Nãma- Rupa to arise. It means the personality to be born from the
acknowledgement and to dress up the repeated mind. As a result, it will cause the
personality and behavior to arise. So, the researcher thinks that Somdet Phra
Buddhaghosacariya (P. A. Payutto) explains the Dhamma to cause the Buddhists to
understand Buddhism nowadays in much compliance with Buddha-Dhamma.
