WORK PERFORMANCE ACCORDING TO IDDHIPADADHAMMA OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN NAI MUANG SUB DISTRICT MUANG DISTRICT LAMPHUN PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aims 1) to study opinions of personnel on performance according to Iddhipada principles of the administrator of Chak Kham Khanathon School in Nai Muang Sub-district, Muang District, Lamphun Province, 2) to compare opinions of personnel on school administration according to Iddhipada principles of Chak Kham Khanathon School administrator, Nai Muang Sub-district, Muang District, Lamphun Province and 3) to study the guidelines of promoting the operations according to Iddhipada principles of Chak Kham Khanathon School administrator in Nai Muang Sub-district, Muang District, Lamphun Province. The research was conducted with mixed methods. The Population from 212 personnel who worked in Chak Kham Khanathon School in Nai Muang Sub-district, Muang District, Lamphun Province, including teachers and officers who were involved in Chak Kham Khanathon School in Nai Muang Sub-district, Muang District, Lamphun Province. The samples cluster of 140 people by purposive sampling. All questionnaires were verified and inspected validity so that the complete issue would be selected for data analysis by recording scores in each item of each individual in the coding form. Data were analyzed with a program for social science research to find frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The hypothesis was tested with T-test and F-test with One-way Anova. When finding difference, it was tested with Least Significant Difference: LSD. For open-end questions from the interview, the researcher conducted data grouping to find subject matters and then used content analysis technique.

   Personnel in Chak Kham Khanathon School in Nai Muang Sub-district, Muang District, Lamphun Province had opinions on performance according to principles of Iddhipada 4 in the overall at high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that opinions on performance according to Iddhipada 4 that acquired highest mean was intention (Chanda), followed by investigation (Vimansa) and consciousness. The aspect that had least mean was effort or energy (Viriya).

   The comparison of the opinion level on performance of the administrator of Chak Kham Khanathon School in Nai Muang Sub-district, Muang District, Lamphun Province was performed by proving hypothesis and analyzing differences categorized by personal factors such as gender, age, educational level and monthly income. The result was found that for the terms of gender, age and income, they did not have different opinions. However, they had distinct opinion on educational level so such hypothesis could be accordingly accepted.

   After interviewing the informants, the researcher found that they had similar opinions in the same way that apart from the principles of Iddhipada 4, other Dharma principles should be also applied in operations such as good governance, Four Sublime States of Mind and Sangahavatthu 4 etc. In conclusion, every organization and institute should implement and apply Dharma principles in working. Although the moral principles and teachings of the Buddha have been originated since the Buddha Era and it’s been more than two thousand years till today, they are still modern and can be applied as the way of living and guidelines for good administration. The reason is because such moral principle is eternal truth that can be always proven. Any person who exercises this principle in living can successfully practice it and see its real result but it depends on what moral principle we will choose that is most suitable to ourselves and the organization. Furthermore, the administrators have many moral principles that they follow and exercise so as to achieve the work by its objectives.
