Political Values of Northern Thai Karen Community

Abstract

Northern Karen communities have unique characteristics that are very
important and interesting. It is a political issue that is sensitive to knowledge and
values, which will lead to the collective motto of the Karen community. The
understanding of grouping also gives a picture of social integration. Society and
politics are therefore inextricably coherent dimensions that become the way most
people feel. which can be synthesized that 1. The feelings of Karen community tend
to place importance on the leader or believe in the leader. 2. The integration of
similar beliefs makes the decision-making process similar. 3. Practices, activities or
traditions tend to value the country, religion and beliefs of the ancestors. 4. Northern
Karen communities also place importance on the same representative system as
themselves or the same race. 5. Karen community still adheres to the motto of
promoting the merit that has been helping. Therefore, the political values of the
Karen community are often used as a political tool by politicians who have been
able to access these values for a long time.
