THE BUDDHIST ACTIVITIES’S MODEL IN LAMPHUN PRISON

Abstract

The Research entitled “The Buddhist Activities Model in Lamphun Prison” The objectives of this research are as 3 follows: 1) to study the general activities model in Lamphun Prison, 2) to study the Buddhist Activities Model in Lamphun Prison, and 3) to study the problems, obstacle and the solutions of the Buddhist activity model in Lamphun Prison.

The findings indicated that the preparing activity and inmates training and it aimed to provide the inmates back into society peacefully, and not going to repeat offenders again by resolving personality of lost inmates in order to adapt to the society regulation and condition by providing skills that needs to live in society including, education and moral training. The Buddhist activity in Lamphun Prison consists of 2 aspects as follows: 1) to provide education and moral, ethical training that is the main activity of resolved training the inmates who imprisons the prison, and 2) the preparing activity in order to adjust personality that prevents to the temptation in crime and the embellishment of classy mind, not to commit again.

The examples of interview and the observing of Buddhist Activity in Lamphun Prison founded that the most inmates learned various activities by Buddhism and took Buddhadhamma in resolving life problem according to body and mind-development, then practiced in order to lead to good behavior, to cooperate in work and vocational training as well, behave oneself in discipline of prison. If the inmates already passed various activities in prison programs when acquitted they will not be the burden of Social and nation in future certainly.
