Abstract

This article aims to present the information related to the encouragement of emotional intelligence, which is essential for our Thai children. It can be used as the guidelines for authors who involved in the academic fields in order to apply this for the academic, professional and social purposes. The author has studied and gathered the data from several authors. To sum up, the gathered concepts and knowledge, regarding the encouragement of emotional intelligence for Thai children could be concluded as follows: 1) the definition of emotional intelligence, 2) the importance of emotional intelligence, 3) the source of the intelligence Emotional, 4) components of emotional intelligence, 5) the nature of the child with a high EQ, 6) the role of parents in encouraging the emotional intelligence and 7) EQ and education, including the conclusion based on the concept of the author in each section. The author expects that this article will be the beginning that can cause the benefits for developing our Thai children as well as the society and our nation.
