The history and presentation of Davaravati

Abstract

The objectives of this research article are 1) To study the history of Dvaravati 
civilization 2) To present the study of the history of Dvaravati civilization. Research 
methodology are qualitative research methods and documentary research methods, 
study guide to collecting data which aims to use the research results to create a set 
of knowledge and a model for the propagation of Buddhism in the Dvaravati 
civilization to society and who are interested. 
The study found that Dvaravati history can be divided into 4 periods: 1) the 
pre - Dvaravati period (around the 6th-13th Buddhist century), consisting of Amaravati 
art, Gupta art, Pallava art, and Pala art 2) Early Dvaravati period (Around the 12th-13th 
Buddhist century) is during which most of the sculptures were imported from outside 
India. And it was the first era where the idols began to be built. 3) Middle Dvaravati 
period : authentic Dvaravati period. (Around the 14th-15th Buddhist centuries) is the 
most comprehensive period of Dvaravati art. Including almost all works of art found 
in this period It has evolved from the work that imitated early Indian art. and has 
modified some characteristics until there is a form of local influence mixed in a lot 4) 
the late Dvaravati period (around the end of the 16th-18th Buddhist centuries) This is 
partly because political influence and Khmer arts have taken over, especially in the 
lower Isaan and central regions. which should be centered in Lopburi
