Strategic Management for Road Accident Reduction during the New Year Festival

Abstract

The number of deaths and injuries from road accidents in Thailand during the New Year's 
festival is increasing every year. mainly due to drunk driving. exceeding the speed required by law. 
The driver's condition is not ready. And the condition of the car is not ready As a result. the 
number of deaths and injuries for the year 2020 - 2020 was 737. with 3.499 injuries and 3.421 
accidents. The authors suggest management strategies for reducing road accidents during the New 
Year festival. That is expected to be likely to reduce losses as well Reducing the number of cars on the road by improving quality standards Safer for public transportation services Along with 
controlling the fair passenger fare Punishment and strict restrictions on the use of road vehicles. 
especially the driver's license of various types of cars. As well as adding more transportation 
systems to support the rapid and sufficient public transport Obtaining safe driving rights with long
term penalties Limiting the speed of driving to no more than 80-100 kilometers / hour while 
checking the performance of drivers throughout the route during the said festival Strict strictness 
on alcohol and drugs. facilitating driving through integration at the provincial and local levels.
