Dhamma Yatra Project’s Promotion: Concept and Principle for Learning in Suttanta Pitaka Subject

Abstract

This purpose of research were: 1) to study the history of Dhamma Yatra in
Buddha era. 2) to apply Dhamma Yatra principles in the development of teaching
Sutanta Tipitka in Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Nakhon Phanom
Buudhist College 3) to integrate Dhamma Yatra in the course of its subject, Nakhon
Phanom Buudhist College The main informants were 15 monks, students and 100
community members joining activity. Conducted by interview and questionnaire and
analyzed by interpret and statistical mean, standard deviation.
The study found that The dhamma is a result of Buddha's practice. Later, when
Buddhism settled down, the activities were greatly reduced. Going out to the villagers.
It is to revive the activity up there. In the latter stages of the Dharma Yatra, there were
specific aims, such as bringing peace and reconciliation to Cambodia, which had been
devastated by the war for more than two decades. For the students, Dhamama Yatra
was the meaning of walking to students and villagers in the form of projects and
activities. This was an activity in the curriculum outline. The first group was the students
teaching Dhamma in school as a project, the second group was the teaching for elderly
in community in evening after the chant finished.
Integration provided into 2 characteristics. The first was the integration of
individual activities, by using Dhamma from SuttantaTipitaka subject to teach students.
Second, the integration in listed in Course Outline. However, integration in the Course
Outline limited, but the teacher could integrate by applying theory into practice.
