THE PRACTICING OF DUTIES BY THE SCHOOL BOARD IN SCHOOLS UNDER NONGBUALAMPHU PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 2 : A CASE STUDY OF SCHOOLS IN EDUCATIONAL QUALITY DEVELOPMENT NETWORK CENTER AT NAGLANG 3

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the level and compare the practicing of duties by the school board and to study suggestion and guidelines for increasing efficiency in the practicing of duties by the school board by focus group discussion. The sample group consisted of 95 person. The instruments used to collect data included rating scale questionnaires and group discussion. The statistics used to analyze data included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and Content Analysis. The research results were found that: 1)The practicing of duties by the school board and the factors in overall were rated at a high level. The aspect at the highest average was general administration, the aspect at the lowest average was academic administration. 2) In comparison of the practicing of duties of basic educational institution board, it was found that the practicing of duties by the school board classified by characteristics, when classified by education, it was found that the practicing of duties by the school board in overall and each aspect, it was different with statistically significant level at .01, when classified by age, it was found that the practicing of duties by the school board in overall was not different. 3) On guidelines for increasing efficiency in the practicing of duties by the school board by focus group discussion, it was found that the basic educational institution board suggested guidelines for increasing efficiency in the practicing of duties by the school board as follows: The board should be aware of the duties, involved in suggestions, planning, policy and project proposals according to frameworks of schools. There should be meeting, training and seminars to understand and aware of duties, visual education to open worldviews, application of new strategies to improve the quality of education as well as participation in co-thinking, co-planning, co-action, co-evaluation and co-appreciation of the success of the schools.
