ECOTOURISM DEVELOPMENT OF M METHOD AND PROCEDURE FOR BUDDHIST- BASED COMMUNICATION OF THE VESSANTARA DHAMMA TRADITION OF THE THAI KOEN PEOPLE IN CHIANG RAI PROVINCE

Abstract

The article has objectives to 1) study the Buddhist communication methods
appearing in the Buddhist scriptures, 2) study the pattern and process of Buddhist
communication in the tradition of setting up Dhamma Vessatra of the Thai Kuen people in
Chiang Rai and 3) to analyze the Buddhist communication in the tradition of setting up
Dhamma Vessatra of the Thai Kuen people in Chiang Rai. This is the qualitative research
with documentation and interviewing were as collecting tools. The research result was
found that;
1) the Buddhist communication methods appearing in the Buddhist scriptures
was found as follows: the use of media and communication devices of the Buddha as
appeared in the Tripitaka and communication methods for the effectiveness of the
Buddha, as well as the integration of the Buddha's use of media and communication
devices in teaching the Dharma.
2) The pattern and process of Buddhist communication in the tradition of
setting up Dhamma Vessatra of the Thai Kuen people in Chiang Rai was as follows: 1. the
format of the annual traditional sermon, 2. the style of preaching is arranged according to
the life-prolong (Sueb Cha-dtaa). The process consisted of planning at the beginning,
meeting and preaching etc...
3) Analyzing the Buddhist communication in the tradition of setting up
Dhamma Vessatra of the Thai Kuen people in Chiang Rai found was that: a. message
(dharma content), b. messenger (preacher), c. receiver (priests - novices - Upasaka -
Upasika) and d. communication channels (online/offline). .
