ENCOURAGING OBSERVING THE 5 PRECEPTS OF 5-PRECEPTS VILLAGE, PA YANG, MAE CHAN DISTRICT, CHIANG RAI

Abstract

This material has objectives to 1) study the activities that promoted the
upholding of 5 precepts of the 5 precepts keeping village of Ban Pa Yang, Mae Chan
District, Chiang Rai Province, 2) study the patterns and process that promoted 5 precepts
upholding of the 5 precepts keeping village of Ban Pa Yang, Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai
Province and 3) to develop the network of partners to promote the upholding of the 5
precepts of the 5 precepts keeping village of Ban Pa Yang, Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai
Province. This is the qualitative research, using document and interviewing as collecting
data tools. The research result was found that;
1) The activities that promoted the upholding of 5 precepts of the 5
precepts keeping village of Ban Pa Yang, Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai Province was as
follows; 1, morality and culture activity, 2, health activity, 3 , career responsibility
activity, 4, peace activity, 5, education welfare activity, 6, public welfare activity, 7,
gratitude activity and 8, dhamma unity activity.
2) The patterns and process that promoted 5 precepts upholding of the 5
precepts keeping village of Ban Pa Yang, Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai Province, was found
that the pattern to mobilize policy of the 5 precepts keeping of Ban Pa Yang village,
Srikam subdistrict, Mae Chan district, Chaing Rai province, the policy was introduced
to all sectors through the participation process and activities were implemented
through the integration of cooperation among governmental, non-governmental and
people organization, by creating incentives through contests, glorifying, and
continually raising awareness through activities. And
3) develop the network of partners to promote the upholding of the 5
precepts of the 5 precepts keeping village of Ban Pa Yang, Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai
Province, found that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in
project implementation of the 5 precepts keeping village with all involved sectors
including Abbot of various temples, district Chief, subdistrict Chief(Kamnan), village
Chief(Phoo Yai Ban), district and subdistrict Cultural Council, Office of Buddhism and
Cultural Office of Chiang Rai Province under the name Bowon (Houses, Temples and
Government).
