Samajivita : The sufficient life

Abstract

The world economic crisis problem isn't caused only from public debt
crisis in Europe but also from many other complicated factors.
The Sufficient Economic is the concept which aims to the right production
and consumption under the limitation of income or the existing resources.
The Sufficient Economic Concept will be able to lead Thailand to the stable
economic system. Sufficiency means being enough, being rational and being immune
under the condition of knowledge and ethic.
From this study, the analysis of the Sufficient Economic Concept and the
Buddhist Dharma finds that the Sufficient Economic Concept is a part of Buddhism
which can reinforce the efficiency of proceeding the economic activities and earning
the living. The past economic crisis is a good lesson for Thai people to point out the
problems clearly. To find out the cause of problem, ones must aim the objective
clearly and solve problems with Ditthadhammikattha 4 Principle (Dharma for present
utility). This principle was called "Haujaisedthi" in former time. "To Earn Living
Sufficiently" (Samajivita) is an important topic which comprises of knowing how to
expend, spending properly with the economic status and necessity. All of these are
based on the Sundose (Solitary principle). Most problems are declared in Buddhism
that their causes come from human passion. If the passion is diminished, all
problems can be solved.
