Style and technique of preaching in modern society

Abstract

This article aims to offer the style and technique of preaching in modern society. As preaching in the era of globalization has resulted in a powerful and effective approach within a changing social context. Originally, monks served as the primary role in preaching and propagating Buddhism and sought ways and techniques for new preaching. The traditional preaching style included preaching by reading scriptures and improvisational preaching. At present, the preaching style has changed to a combination of improvisational preaching and public speaking. The preaching techniques include encouraging audience participation and creating humor to prevent boredom. In addition, preachers evaluate the results of each preaching session in order to develop and improve their preaching.

These styles and methods are used to propagate Buddhism so that the teachings of the Buddha can reach those who are interested in Dhamma. This is a means of preserving, propagating, and inheriting the teachings of the Buddha as eternal Dhamma, so that they can continue to be disseminated among those interested in Buddhist principles.
