THE INTEGRATION OF GHARÃVÃSADHAMMA IN PROTECTION AND SOLUTION OF DRUGS PROBLEMS OF VILLAGE IN LAOYAO SUB-DISTRICT, BAN HONG DISTRICT, LAMPHUN PROVINCE

Abstract

The research were to study the situation of drugs problems of Village, to integrate the methods of Gharãvãsadhamma to approve people behaviors toward drugs problems of Village in Laoyao Sub-District, Ban Hong District, Lamphun Province, to propose the measures to preventing and solving drugs problems based on Gharãvãsadhamma. The study was carried by qualitative research. The data collecting was in-depth interview. The populations used in this study were 15 people consisted of 1 senior monk, 1 law enforcer, 7 government officials and 4 former drug addicts.

The findings of this research were found as follows:

The situation of drugs problems of Village in Laoyao Sub-District, Ban Hong District, Lamphun Province, there were the operation to preventing and solving drugs problems by integrating the methods into the educational curriculums of formal educational institutions but still lacking of the information in preventing drug problems for non-formal educational learners. To integrate the methods of Gharãvãsadhamma to approve people behaviors toward drugs problems of Village in Laoyao Sub-District found that people in community should take and follow Sacca to control their behaviors, taking Dama by being prudent within one’s own insight consideration, taking Khanti by being patient especially to the drug addict treatment course and taking Cãga is training everybody to be a sacrifice sharing a mutual. To propose the measures to preventing and solving drugs problems based on Gharãvãsadhamma for Village found that there should have the Gharãvãsadhamma training course for community especially for the risk groups.
