Mudrā : Code of Early Buddhists Philosophy

Abstract
Every Buddha image has a code or "Mudrā” as one of the most beautiful expressions through the human thumb and index finger. This is a symbolic gesture with underlying ethics. Aside from instilling aesthetic qualities in Buddha images, various hand gestures may be used to improve morality, concentration and wisdom. It is said among Budchists that if one trains concentration regularly, one can reach the true path of Buddha. That person will have a slow, soft and perfect yet bold and stable gesture. Movement and gesture of those with wisdom define "Mudrā”-gesture of Buddha and his disciples, which can radiate to others. This "Mudrā” this has a subtly hidden but most important quality that is morality and consciousness training to obtain concentration.
