The City of Art : Model for Development of Creative Art and Culture

Abstract

Research paper concerning The City of Art : Model for Development of Creative Art and
Culture Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai Province. The objectives are as follows 1 . To study the plan to
conserve and promote creative arts and culture in Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai province 2. To develop
a Creative Arts and Culture Street in Chiang Saen 3. To develop Arts Square: planned for activities
and creative arts and culture shows in Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai province 4. To develop an application
to promote creative tourism areas in Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai province. It is Qualitative Research
including documentary evidence and field work. The documentary part comprises information
collected from relevant documents and research. The field work includes information collected
from questions and interviews, in-depth interviews and Focus Group discussions, as well as
Participant Observation. Research results show that there is a plan and process to conserve and
promote creative arts and culture in Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai province on a material basis comprised
of the development of a Creative Arts and Culture Street in Chiang Saen, such as creating a logo as
a symbol of the city of Chiang Saen, Lanna flags, photographic landmarks, and an open area or
square for arts and culture in Chiang Saen district, such as a ceremony of renewal for the city,
activities and shows, such as traditional dancing and folk music and drums, hill tribes
demonstrations, markets, and finally an application to promote creative tourists places in Chiang
Saen, Chiang Rai province, so as to advertise information about arts and culture.
