PARTICIPATORY CREATIVE SPACE DEVELOPMENT POLICIES AND STRATEGIES OF KANJANA SUBDISTICT MUEANG PHRAE DISTRICT, PHRAE PROVINCE

Abstract

This qualitative study aimed to investigate problems and 
community economic development, to develop policies concerning 
community economic development, and to propose economic 
development policies and strategies to people living in Kanchana sub
district, Meuang Phrae district, Phrae province. 

The findings were as follows.  

1. The overview of problem regarding community economic 
development was that the community entrepreneurs still faced the 
budgeting problems. They also lacked of knowledge in applying 
technologies used in designing product and adding product value. Public 
relations through online social media was still needed. The possible 
solution for economic problems was determining objective plans to effectively adjust the problems to social changes, leading to community effectiveness. 

2. The plans, policies, and strategies of Kanchana Subdistrict 
Administrative Organization (fiscal year 2019-2022). According to the analysis 
of plan, the strength were clear strategies, plans, and projects. The 
weakness was that the development of community economics  was not 
included in the policies and plans. The lack of financial support in order to 
empower economic potential was also regarded as weakness. The younger 
generation had no interest in attending training workshop to inherit local 
wisdoms. 

3. In terms of policy, it consistedof 1. Community enhancement and 
strengthening, 2. Community administration and management, 3. 
Community economics, and 4. Creation of income. They were in accordance 
with the strategy regarding public service administration and management 
and the strategy of public utility and infrastructure development. The 
policies’objective was to motivate people to learn and develop technology 
skills for food processing to increase products’ value and enhance 
participative management, placing importance on  community interests.
