The Six Directions as Human Relations

Abstract

In the Thai society. although there would have a lot of doctrines or religions. but the 
almost Thai people admits to get the doctrines of Buddhism in the way of everyday life. Lifestyle 
of Thai has the relation with the doctrines of Buddhism. until it became the culture and tradition 
of the community or society that Thai people has to uphold and inherit from the past to the 
present. Teachings about six directions is the dogma which concerned human life for social living. 
In everyday life people communicated to another in Department or Organization; Public and 
Private sector. so people who can live happily in society must be a person who has good 
relations. and a moral in daily life. 

In Buddhism the Lord Buddha said the relation of people in society with the metaphor 
that six directions are like the direction around us. namely the relation between parents and 
children. teachers and students. husbands and wives. friends and friends. employers and 
employees. and Buddhist monks and laymen. It is relationship that brings peace to society. 
Therefore. the nature of the interaction of six directions is the principle of human relations based 
on the fulfillment of one’s own roles and duties. If everyone in the society has performed their 
duties correctly and appropriately. the society will have peace.
