APPLICATION OF BUDDHIST PRINCIPLES TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION OF LOCAL WOVEN FABRICS. OF WIANG YONG SUBDISTRICT MUNICIPALITY

Abstract

Research study on “Application of Buddhist principles to promote the
conservation of native textiles in Wiang Yong Subdistrict Municipality”, the researcher
used Mixed Methods Research using a quantitative research methodology.
(Quantitative Research) by collecting data by means of handing out questionnaires.
(Questionnaire) with the population that has been defined and qualitative research by
collecting data by interview method.
The results of the research were as follows: 1. The opinion level on the
conservation of native textiles of Wiang Yong Subdistrict Municipality Overall, it was at
a high level ( x ̅= 3.84, SD = 0.558). 2. The results of the comparison of opinions on
the conservation of local textiles of Wiang Yong Subdistrict Municipality. Overall,
classified by sex, it was found that they were different (t = -0.305, Sig.= 0.012), therefore
accepting the research hypothesis, classified by age, found no difference (F=0.034,
Sig.=0.992). Classified by educational background, found no difference (F=0.504, Sig. .=
0.680) Classified by status found no difference (F= 1.223, Sig.=0.301) Classified by
occupation found no difference (F=1.726, Sig.=0.114) Classified by income found no
difference (F=0.423, Sig.= 0.792), therefore rejecting the research hypothesis Cultivating
ideas and conscience of people in society to see the importance Pathan Pathana is to
educate about the benefits of conserving native textiles. Phawana Pathan is a regular
forum to exchange knowledge about the conservation of woven fabrics. Conservation
is to promote activities to conserve native weaves.
