A PROMOTION OF LOCAL POLITICAL CULTURE BY PEOPLE’S PARTICIPATION IN CHO HAE SUB-DISTRICT, MUEANG PHRAE DISTRICT, PHRAE PROVINCE

Abstract

This article has the following objectives : 1) to study the level of a promotion
of local political culture with the participation of people in Cho Hae Subdistrict, Mueang
Phrae District, Phrae Province; 2) to study the relationship between the principle of
Aparihaniyadhamma VII and the promotion of local political culture with the
participation of people in Cho Hae Subdistrict, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province
and 3) to study the problem obstacles and recommendations on public participation
in the promotion of local political culture Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province. this
research is a mixed methods research, the quantitative research used a survey research
method by simple distribution. the sample group included people living in Cho Hae
Subdistrict. the sample size was determined using the formula for calculating the
sample size of Taro Yamane. were 380 persons. the data were analyzed by frequency,
percentage, mean, standard deviation. and Pearson's correlation coefficient. which got
the reliability of the whole questionnaire 0.97 and the confidence value of the whole
questionnaire 0.92, qualitative research section selected key informants, specific, 9
figures or people analyze the interviews of key informants according to research
objectives. by using content analysis techniques for context. the results showed that:
1) the level a promotion of local political culture by people's participation in Cho Hae
Sub-District, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province found that the overall level was
moderate (x̅=3.47, S.D.=0.37) 2) The correlation between the Aparihaniyadhamma VII
Principles and the promotion of local political culture with the participation of people
in Cho Hae, Sub-district, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province in overall had a rather
high positive relationship (R = .636**) and 3) the problems and obstacles include: some
people do not have the knowledge and understanding about participation in various
political activities as they should. suggestions include the government and local
government organizations should provide training to educate the people. In regard to
political participation in the form of a democratic system explain to the public the
purpose and benefits of participating.
