The result of a Role Playing in New Normal Life During the COVID-19 Epidemic through Online Classroom

Abstract

This Article aimed to study (1) study the development of Role Playing in New
Normal Life during the COVID-19 epidemic with the Integration of Principle of Tourist
Guide Classroom Teaching through Online Classroom. (2) to study the achievement of
of Role Playing in New Normal Life during the COVID-19 epidemic with the Integration
of Principle of Tourist Guide Classroom Teaching through Online Classroom. 3) to
study the level of satisfaction of students to Role Playing in New Normal Life during the
COVID-19 epidemic with the Integration of Principle of Tourist Guide Classroom
Teaching through Online Classroom. This research model is mix method research.
The population group is 15 students in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality
Management, Year 3, Faculty of Business Administration. North - Chiang Mai


University. The tools used in the research were quizzes, observational, worksheets
and assessment forms. The statistics used in the data analysis were Dependent
Sample t-test, Percentage and mean (quantitative). Observation Form and Interview
Form (qualitative).
The research results were found as follows;
1. Students have knowledge Understanding of tour guides, roles, duties and
operating procedures of tour guides. Skilled in describing tourist attractions according
to the tour itinerary Providing services and facilities to tourists according to the
itinerary including having a good attitude and have professional ethics of tour guides
from participating in the learning activities using role-playing 2 times during the
content learning period
2. The pre-test had a mean score of 4.93, a standard deviation of 0.80 and a
mean score of 8.80 post-test. A standard deviation of 0.68 indicates that the students'
learning achievements after school were higher than before by using role play.
Assuming that when comparing scores before and after studied, it was found that the
students' post test scores after studied were significantly higher than pre-test at the
0.05 level (t = 20.15, sig. = 0.000).
3. The satisfaction assessment results found that the average level of
students satisfaction towards the Principle of Tourist Guide Course were at the


highest level. And the satisfaction level among students who had a learning of a role-
playing learning style through the Microsoft Teams online classroom was also at the


highest level.
