Buddhist Teaching Methods in the Form of Parables

Abstract
The development of teaching metaphors that appeared in the time of the
Lord Buddha The Buddha was a metaphor from the events that happened or things
that people in the Buddha's time. I have seen and seen in everyday life and used to
explain and compare. Later. in the post-Buddha era. teaching in a metaphor style
aimed at explaining the content of the Dharma arising from the debate in order to
propagate the teachings and protect the Dhamma and discipline Later. the era of
monks in Thai society The monks used teaching principles in a metaphorical way by
giving examples. There is a teaching document. compare the principles in Buddhism
with ideas in other religions. including
Philosophical concepts. sociology. science. and psychology have first referred to the
words of the Buddha from the Tripitaka. and then later brought up analogies that are
relevant to the audience. Teach in a metaphorical way to study the threefold
principle. starting in the family until nirvana and teach in rhetorical metaphors using
the Thai and Pali languages together
Metaphorical teaching in Buddhism is the use of linguistic rhetoric to explain
the principles of Dharma. There are 2 principles that are the same at all times.
namely Dhammadhisthana and Pukkhaladithana. to explain the Dharma by
comparing 2 things. That is. 1. Metaphor = Abstract = Dhammadhisthana 2. Metaphor
= Concrete = Pugghadhisthana Metaphorical teaching in Buddhism can achieve
worldly results and worldly achievements. And can be applied in modern times used
for lectures. sermons and answering questions. It can be classified into 3 eras: the Buddha era and the post Buddha era. The era of monks in Thai society where
teaching is metaphorical that the Lord Buddha had used since the beginning of the
propagation of Buddhism Then the disciples in the Buddha's time brought his
teachings in his parables to spread the doctrine to the present day.
