THE PROMOTION OF THE PUBLIC WELFARE ROLE ACCORDING TO BUDDHIST PRINCIPLES OF PHRA KILANUPATTAKA IN LAMPHUN PROVINCE

Abstract

This research article has 3 objectives: 1. To study public welfare in Buddhism. 
It was found that public welfare in Buddhism has existed since the time of the 
Buddha. The Lord Buddha had mercy as a way of helping the animal world that he 
wished for his disciples to take as a guideline in performing public welfare work for 
the people of the world. Monk disciples therefore have important duties that they 
want to help people to escape from all suffering. Public welfare is therefore the 
mission of the monks. For public welfare managers, most of them are temple or 
abbot.  
2. To study the concept and theory of public welfare of Phra Khilanupatthak, 
Lamphun Province. It is found that Phra Khilanupatthak operates through the form of 
doing public activities, namely 1) Helping businesses, 2) Helping other people's 
activities, 3) Helping public places and 4) Helping people in general. 
3. To promote public welfare roles according to Buddhist principles of Phra 
Kilanupatthak, Lamphun Province. There will be a form of operation according to the 
principle of Sangkhahavatthu 4 to be a guideline for operating as a monk who has a 
real role in public welfare according to Buddhist guidelines, so it can be called that It 
promotes public welfare roles according to the Buddhist principles of Phra 
Kilanupatthak, Lamphun Province.
