Abstract
The research study An analysis of the Buddhist principles appearing in the
ceremony of parading the white elephant to ask for rain at Ta Doi Chae Temple. Mae
Tha District. Lamphun Province has the following objectives: 1) to study the Buddhist
principles related to the white elephant parade asking for rain at Tha Doi Chae Tem
ple. Mae Tha District. Lamphun Province; 2) to study the white elephant parade ritual
at Tha Doi Chae Temple. Mae Tha District. Lamphun Province; 3) to analyze the Bud
dhist principles appearing in the white elephant parade asking for rain at Tha Doi
Chae Temple. Mae Tha District. Lamphun Province.
The results showed that the principles related to the parade of white ele
phants asking for rain are as follows: (1) There are 4 principles of Samparayikattha
benefits: 1) Sattasampada Accomplished with faith 2) Silasampada Accompanied by
virtue 3) cagasampada Accomplished with charity 4) Panyasampada Accomplished by
wisdom (2) Principle of unity (3) Principle of participation (4) The principles of faith
and belief in the ceremony of parading the white elephant for rain at Wat Tha Doi
Chae are all related. It is linked with the ritual of parading the white elephant for rain
As for the ritual of parading the white elephant for rain at Tha Doi Chae Temple. Mae
Tha District. Lamphun Province. it has been around for a long time. It was the first
time that there was a parade of white elephants asking for rain in Mae Tha District.
Lamphun Province for farmers can do farming normally.
