AN ANALYSIS OF ROLES IN SUPPORTING MONK EDUCATION OF LAMPHUN BUD DHIST COLLEGE

Abstract

This research has three objectives: 1. to study the support of monk educa
tion in Buddhism. 2. to study the support of monk education of Lamphun Buddhist 
College. 3. to analyze the role of support for monk education in the Lamphun Bud
dhist College. It is qualitative research. The research tools for the data collection was 
an in-depth interview with a group of 13 key informants. The results showed that: 1. 
To support the study of monks in Buddhism. it was found that the Buddha estab
lished the Sangha. This Sangha is open to all castes and non-castes to have an equal 
opportunity to receive study. training. and practice in order to reach the ultimate goal 
that life in the monks can reach. The monastic institute has become an educational 
institute because it is a place for training. develop people. and develop themselves 
to the right way of life.. 2. The support of monk education of Lamphun Buddhist Col
lege has received kindness from the provincial monks. monks. communities and lo
calities within the province and nearby provinces. which make Lamphun Buddhist 
College strong. There are educational programs in subject areas that are in line with 
the university's philosophy. motto. vision. identity and graduate identity. 3. Analyzing 
the role of supporting monk education of Lamphun Buddhist College. it was found 
that 1. Kanthathura. the guideline for studying scriptures. 2. Vipassanathura. the im
portance of being a place for transferring the knowledge of dhamma practice. 3. Pro
duction of graduates. emphasizing on social aspects. if they are monk students. they 
must be good monk students. 4. Research is an extension of deep learning. 5. Aca
demic services to society. it is a place open to give opportunities for everyone to 
study and learn Buddhism. 6. Promoting Buddhism. preserving arts and culture and preserving the environment. cultural preservation and local traditions has been sup
ported continuously.
