The Analysis of “Single Mother” in the Animation Movie Wish Dragon (2021)

Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyze “Single Mother” in the animation
movie “Wish Dragon (2021)”. This was qualitative research. The data was analyzed by
using descriptive analysis to find the elements of “Single Mother” in the animation
movie “Wish Dragon (2021)” through verbal and non-verbal communication. For
verbal communication, the researcher focused on spoken and written languages. For,
non-verbal communication, colors, tone, character designs were used to analyze the
data.
The result of the study in terms of verbal language showed that there were
physical punishment and verbal warning. After quarreling with the son, the mother
made her son's favorite thing to ask for reconciliation, etc. Within the animated film,
the researcher analyzed the data to see the incompatibility between the protagonist
who was the only sonAccording to Chinese beliefs, he was the leader of the family.
Bringing the family's reputation might be more than that. There was the source of
fear that she wouldn't be able to raise her son well enough as she had lost her
husband.
