Development of forms and techniques of teaching English in Prapariyattitham School in Chiang Rai Province

Abstract

Studying the development of forms and techniques for teaching English in
Phrapariyattidham School in Chiang Rai Province, to study problems of teaching and learning
English in the school, to study the factors contributing to students' use of the English language
and for presenting the format and techniques of teaching English in the School Department of
General Education.
The target group of the study included 5 executives of the schools who, 10 English
teachers who, and 169 students who provided information of the research. Data collections
consisted of by using the observation, audio recordings, interview questions and questionnaires.
For the curriculum, it was found that the curriculum of the school has English language courses
for two hours per week. The learner found that the students had relatively low basic English
language skills. English language teachers found that teachers had too many roles, duties and
responsibilities other than teaching. The school has very little space for students to organize
activities to express themselves in English both outside and in the classroom. This is the factor
that contributed to the unsuccessful teaching of English language teaching.
The new knowledge discovered by the research is blended teaching and learning, refers
to integrated learning and teaching learning, in the same class, in the situations where students
have different levels of English language proficiency.
